Pigs and Tasers……

Jesus, just spotted this on a friend’s blog:

This is plainly police abuse: false arrest; assault; torture. A rascist element, too, do we reckon? What else do we expect from the USA’s army of Pigs?

Well, luckily for us, tasers are becoming more widely used by police in the UK! A few recent taser stories:

UN declares tasers “instrument of torture”: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2007/11/26/un_taser_verdict/

Meanwhile, in the USA alone, Amnesty International  documented some 334 deaths linked to the weapons between 2001 and December 2008.

Here’s another vid:

Pretty shocking. One question: 3 police, and a hall full of people, and they let him be tortured in front of them. Why? Why didn’t they stop the Pigs? Some fucking solidarity.

OH! And just in case you thought this only happens in the USA, here’s an awful vid of a man from Nottingham being punched, kicked and tasered:

By the way, here’s the IPCC report that finally came out about this. You’ll note that the reason he was brutally beaten and tasered three times is that he was drunk, he swore at the police, and that he resisted arrest. The police tried to pass this off as Grevious Bodily Harm. During the initial attempt at arrest – which, given the footage of the latter part, we can imagine was, let’s say, fairly heavy handed – one police officer received a bruised face and a bite to the leg. What must have been happening that the guy bit his leg will have to be left to speculation. Either way, the Crown Prosecution Service didn’t feel there was sufficient evidence to support a conviction, even after the charge was dropped from GBH to Actual Bodily Harm. Evidently he was an extremely dangerous drunk man, and the two big male police officers were in no way deliberately involving themselves in street fighting for the power buzz it gives them to inflict pain. (Oh wait, that’s potentially libellous: correction, he was an innocent man). Well, thank God they have tasers as an alternative to firearms, because otherwise they’d have been forced to shoot him for giving them the v-sign.

…[pause for breath]

Anyway,  having watched these, I’m sure we can all agree with TASER’s slogan: “TASER products mean safety and are meant to save lives, protect you and your family, and protect the truth!”

(I googled taser, and that last quote comes from the google tag for http://www.taser.com. It’s interesting to note the more bizarrely and ironically ambiguous tag for http://www.taser.co.uk: “Taser® is a proven solution for stopping violence everyday by police forces.” Are they trying to suggest that the public should also arm themselves with tasers as protection from police brutality? Makes a degree of sense.)

Well, I’m sure we’ll all sleep easier tonight.
